The GEP manufactures balks, beams and structural floor units. Beams and balks of the GEP are manufactured according to the process OTEP France in accordance with recommendations of the Association Scientifique de la Précontrainte (A.S.P.) the Scientific association of the Pre-stressed and to prescriptions of the “C.P.T. Planchers” elaborated by the C.S.T.B. (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) the Scientific and Technical Center in France.

Balks are in pre-stressed concrete. The concrete is manufactured by a power station to concrete. The constituents of the concrete (granulates, cement and water) are weighed by a skip scale for granulates, a rocker to cement and a hopper and rocker to water. These components are mixed in a mixer equipped of probes at the of bottom of vat for the hygrometric control of the concrete.

Two hydraulic groups appropriate in tension equipped of two jacks are used to extricate wires of the balks thread by thread. Balks are manufactured by a machine of distribution, vibration and molding that permits the simultaneous manufacturing of several lines of balks.

A thermal treatment process that is based on the lost steam diffusion under an isotherm cover is used to accelerate the hardening of the concrete.
After control of the mechanical resistance of the concrete, armatures are loosened and balks are cleared.

 

Beams and balks have in common facilities of handling (cranes), of concrete production, production of steam for the thermal treatment, and groups of unit tension. Armatures of pre-stressed are for beams of strands T 12,5, in number determined by calculation and for balks of wires of 5.

 

The GEP manufactures different types of structural floor units. A press that compacts and vibrates the concrete in a mold manufactures these structural floor units.

 

The GEP arranges an office of study, controlled by an engineer and technicians who establish plans of pose, documents that will be the basis of quotes and documents of launching in production.
